Dear Pastor and praying friends:

We have just returned from our trip to Bolivia and Peru with Whitfield Baptist Church. The trip was awesome! Absolutely nothing went wrong, which is a miracle with a group of 15 people. We were able to visit Kevin White in Cochabamba, Bolivia for two days. The rest of our time was spent in Arequipa, the city in which we will be working. The Lord is doing some amazing things in both places. Sunday morning I had the privilege of preaching at Iglesia Bautista Fe. Unfortunately it was through a translator. That was the first, and last time I’ll do that. Please be praying that we will be able to learn the language quickly.

Last month we had the privilege to present the ministry in eight different churches in North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. Of those eight churches, three have given verbal commitments for monthly support. Also during those visits, I was able to speak with several individuals about visiting us on the mission field. We are always hoping to recruit short term missionaries and, of course, full time as well! If this is something you would be interested in, please contact me.  

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I attended a class taught by veteran missionary, Austin Gardner. During his time of teaching he explained the necessary costs needed to begin setting up our ministry in Peru. Lord willing, we are planning to arrive in Peru at the beginning of February 2009. One of the first expenses we will encounter in this moving process is the cost of airfare and country visas. The approximate cost for this right now is $4000. We earnestly ask for your prayers as we seek to raise these funds.

During July we had three new churches pick us up! That brings us to 70% of our needed monthly support. Through your generosity and prayers, we are certain that God will raise the rest of the necessary funds. Thank you so much for all that you do! You are in the forefront of our thoughts and prayers.
